1. Devdutt Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal has established himself as a strong contender for the number 3 role in India's Test side with runs in Sri Lanka, where he scored two magnificent centuries in two matches, along with a third in the warm-up match prior to the series. The southpaw batter has churned out runs in the domestic game in the longer formats, and he showcased his ability to play big innings on a worldwide scale in Sri Lanka.
Local boy Padikkal is also a fan-favourite among Royal Challengers Bengaluru faithful, and he was a key fixture in their title-defending juggernaut of 2026, scoring 464 runs at a strike rate of 168.72, having looked in complete control against spin and seam bowling.
