MS Dhoni is still going strong and remains one of the few players to have played in all editions of the Indian Premier League ever since its inception. He has also captained a team in almost all IPL seasons barring one. He captained CSK from 2008-2015, Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016, and then is leading CSK again from 2018 to present.

The Ranchi-born veteran retired from international cricket in 2020 and went on to win the IPL in 2021 and 2023 for the Chennai Super Kings. The former Indian skipper's batting has not been top-notch in the previous three IPL seasons since his retirement. But two IPL titles have proven that he remains the best captain in IPL despite all these years.
