Cricket World Cup 2023: Rating fielders in ODI World Cup 2023
Following more than two weeks of the World Cup 2023, let's have a look at the ratings of some best fielders.
2. David Warner- 9/10
There was a big question mark on David Warner’s form in this World Cup, until the match against Pakistan. Against the Men in Green, he played an unprecedented 163-run innings and regained his form. Noting his scintillating batting show, the Australian team will want him to continue his form.
Warner didn’t look fine as a batter in Australia’s initial matches but looked decent as a fielder. In his inaugural World Cup 2023 match against India, he took a sitter at the short cover to help Josh Hazlewood get rid of Shreyas Iyer.
The veteran failed to do anything special against South Africa as a batter, scoring only 13 runs off 27 balls. However, his performance was decent as a fielder as he took two catches in this game. The Aussies clinched their maiden win in the competition, beating Sri Lanka in Lucknow. In this match, Warner flopped with his bat but took a superb running catch at the forward square leg to dismiss Pathum Nissanka, who was hammering the bowlers comfortably.
