Cricket World Cup 2023: Rating teams' bowling performances in the third week
Following the cricketing action in the third week, it’s essential to rate the performances put up by all bowling units.
1. India- 9/10
The Indian team is playing aggressive cricket in home conditions. After winning four games in a row, the Men in Blue continued their sensational form against New Zealand in Dharamshala. Team India beat the Kiwi team by four wickets and brought cheers to the faces of their fans again.
In this victory, Virat Kohli contributed 95 runs but it was the bowlers who set the momentum with their wonderful performance. Mohammed Shami, who was playing his first game of the tournament, came heavily on the Kiwi batters and took a five-wicket haul. With this performance, he became the only India bowler to take a fifer twice in the World Cup tournaments.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj also created problems for the Black Caps with their perfect line and length. Siraj sent dangerous Devon Conway back to the pavilion on a duck while Bumrah scripted Mark Chapman’s return on six. Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with two wickets
