India’s previous highest successful ODI chase came against Australia at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on October 16, 2013. Australia posted 359/5 after batting first, setting India a daunting target of 360.

India, however, made light work of the chase and reached 362/1 in 43.3 overs, winning by nine wickets. Rohit Sharma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 141 off 123 balls, while Virat Kohli provided the acceleration at the other end. Kohli smashed a century from just 52 balls, producing one of the most explosive ODI innings of his career. The opening partnership between Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan also gave India a strong platform before Kohli took over.
