The recent T20 version of Ajinkya Rahane looks too hot to handle for opposition bowlers at the moment. The 34-year-old was superb on his comeback to the Indian Premier League as he took the Mumbai bowlers to the cleaners and helped Chennai win their second game of the season.

He batted at an eye-popping strike rate of 225.92 against Mumbai Indians and scored 61 runs off just 27 balls, including seven fours and three maximums. It was his power-packed batting effort that helped CSK to beat MI at Wankhede.

He can be the ideal man to lead CSK in absence of MS Dhoni as the right-handed batter has abundant experience. He has played 229 T20 games and more importantly, has led India on the global stage and with success, though in the red-ball format.

He can soak in pressure really well and the franchise might just look towards him to fill in for Dhoni if the latter misses a few games due to injury.
