In the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were not up to the mark. They ended in the seventh position with six wins and eight losses in 14 matches. This year, the franchise will look to be excellent under the supervision of their skipper, Shreyas Iyer. At the mini-auction 2023, the franchise bought Narayan Jagadeesan and Shakib Al Hasan who were exceptional recently.

In 2023, KKR will also look forward to quenching their IPL trophy thirst after nine years. The franchise will count on their best players Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy to do well in the competition and bring cheers to the faces of its fans.

As these players will be key for KKR's campaign due to their vast experience. As a result, some inexperienced players might be benched throughout the season.

Here are 5 KKR players who could be benched throughout IPL 2023

5. Suyash Sharma

At the mini-auction, KKR invested INR 20 lakhs in Suyash Sharma to make him a part of their 2023 campaign. The talented youngster can contribute to the team with his leg-spin bowling and his batting in the lower order. After getting roped in at the auction, he expressed his gratitude to KKR through a video.

However, the 19-year-old might not get a single game in the upcoming edition as the franchise has experienced faces such as Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan who can bolster the spin attack. Varun Chakravarthy, who is also a leggie and serving the franchise since 2020, might be preferred over Suyash due to his immense experience.

Suyash’s inexperience could also eliminate his chances of making it to the team as he hasn’t made his first-class debut till now.
