11. Saika Ishaque
Saika Ishaque is an up-and-coming talent in Indian cricketing circles. The Kolkata-born was impressive with her outings in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy 2022 and bagged three wickets in two games at an economy of 4.75. Mumbai Indians liked what they saw in the 27-year-old and picked her at the WPL 2023 auction.
Ishaque put up an exhibition of phenomenal bowling and wreaked havoc with the ball. She was impeccable with her lines and lengths and chipped in wickets at regular intervals. The left-arm orthodox spinner featured in 10 matches and bagged 15 wickets at an economy of 7.00.
Ishaque was Mumbai’s wrecker-in-chief with the ball in the first game of the T20 extravaganza against Gujarat Giants and bagged four wickets while giving away just 11 runs in 3.1 overs. She also displayed her bowling credentials in the encounter against Delhi Capitals in the 7th match of the season and ended the game with splendid figures of 3-0-13-3.
