Cricket Australia, in a unique system, has let its fan decide what kind of uniform the defending champions’ should wear in the next summer. In a new poll, CA has asked Australians their preference from eight past one-day kits ranging from the early 1980s to early 2002s.
Last month, the team wore a retro uniform from the 1980s when it faced India at home for three ODIs. The response from fans was encouraging and the board then gave them various options to choose from – the 1981-84 World Series Cricket, 1986-87 Perth Challenge, 1988-92 Baseball Style, 1992 World Cup, 1992-94 Lightning Bolts, 1996 World Cup, 1999 World Cup and 1999-2001 Blue Stripe.
The poll, which will continue for another week, will determine what Australian players and staff will wear for their home season in 2019-20. Each day, two famous kits will be presented to fans in their original form with votes to be counted across the cricket.com.au website, app and social media platforms.
The team is currently on the road and will play ten ODIs against India and Pakistan, five each, respectively. Having beaten Australia for the first time in a bilateral ODI series Down Under last month, Virat Kohli‘s men will now take on the Aussies at home in a limited-overs series. Captain Aaron Finch has come to India on the back of impressive performances in the Big Bash League and will be the one to look out for.
Over the next week, cricket fans will have the chance to select the retro ODI kit to be worn by the Aussie Men's Team next summer!

Tough summer for Australia
Australia, however, endured their toughest summer recently losing the Test and ODI series to India. The T20I series between the two teams ended in a draw thanks to the rain at the MCG in the second game of the three-match series. Australia though ended the season well by thumping Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series.
