Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan feels that his side lacked discipline while bowling and highlighted the game-changing points in the nail biting loss to Sri Lanka. The Dasun Shanaka-led side came up with an inspiring performance to get over the line by two wickets against Bangladesh in a virtual knockout fixture on the back of a 60-run knock from Kusal Mendis and valuable lower order contributions.

In a game that went right down to the wire, the extras proved to be the difference as Bangladesh conceded 17 of them in comparison to Sri Lanka's 10. The impact of it was Kusal Mendis getting a reprieve after being dismissed of a no ball and yet again, Mahedi Hasan bowled a no ball in the final over of the innings which wrap things up for his side.

These are pressure games and we need to learn a lot: Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib highlighted the impact of the no ball in a crucial fixture and noted that Bangladesh needs to step up in pressure games moving forward. He revealed the two turning points of the game and felt that the skillsets have to be improved. The all-rounder added that the pressure has played a big part in their losses.

"No captain wants a no ball and a spinner bowling a no ball is a crime. We bowled lot of no balls and wide balls and that is not disciplined bowling. These are pressure games and we need to learn a lot from here and move forward," Shakib told reporters on Thursday.

"The turning point could be when our batsmen got out (at crucial moments) and spinners bowling a no ball is a crime. It proved how we can break (down) in a pressure situation. We need to improve on that skill-wise but we break whenever there is pressure and lose the game. We need to improve a lot in the death overs," he added.
