Playing for Durban’s Super Giants in the ongoing SA20 league, the Proteas batter, Heinrich Klassen, absolutely wreaked havoc by scoring a half-century off just 19 deliveries. He toyed with the Paarl Royals bowlers as he hit six sixes and a boundary during his stupendous innings.

Following the carnage, former India international, Abhinav Mukund, shared his reaction on the same and stated that the Royals bowlers had no plan and there was no innovation from the bowling side to stop Klassen. He opined that their bowling was fairly ordinary and all they did was fed the batter.

“You look at their length, line that they bowled to someone like Klaasen. They know what he can do, they were just feeding him and a batsman of his stature, if he gets the balls in his zone then this is what he is going to do. That is the reason why everybody believes that this guy can just take the game away and that’s what he did. There was no innovation from the bowling side that’s what disappointed me,” said Mukund while speaking to Viacom 18.

It was phenomenal hitting, that’s why he is getting paid big bucks in IPL: Mukund

Courtesy of his ferocious knock, the Quinton De Kock-led side posted 216 runs on board in 20 overs. The 31-year-old, Klassen, smacked 25 runs in the final over which piloted the Super Giants to get past the 200-run barrier. Abhinav Mukund, who was watching the game lauded Klassen for his phenomenal hitting and stated that the cricketer eventually justified why he’s getting loads of money in the IPL.

“I thought 200 was given. He came in, got 26 runs over in the final one and all top shots. He is a very good player of spin, everyone knows that but to come in and take four sixes in the final over. It was phenomenal hitting and that’s why he is getting paid big bucks in the Indian league,” said Mukund.
