The Afghanistan Cricket Board has awarded the commercial and television production rights for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India to TransGroup, naming the company as its Global Media Rights Syndication Partner. Their headquarters is located at Lahore, Pakistan. The announcement was made on August 12, 2026, and covers a series that marks the first bilateral event between India and Afghanistan hosted by the ACB, even though all three matches will be played on Indian soil.

The series is scheduled for September 13, 15, and 17, 2026, with the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi confirmed as the venue for all three matches. Alongside TransGroup, TPT360 has been appointed as the Media Production Partner for the series, while FanCode will serve as the Official Streaming Partner for viewers in Indian territory.

"Vany continues as ACB’s long-term Clothing Partner; TG (TransGroup) will serve as ACB’s Global Media Rights Syndication Partner, TPT360 as the Media Production Partner, and FanCode as the Official Streaming Partner for the series in the Indian territory," the statement read as quoted by India Today.

Who holds the television broadcast rights for the series?

Sony Sports Network separately acquired the linear television broadcast rights for the Afghanistan vs India T20I series on August 13, 2026, one day after the ACB's initial commercial announcement. ITW Universe holds the overall media rights for the series and brokered the television package independently from FanCode's digital streaming agreement, creating a split between the linear and digital broadcast arrangements for Indian audiences.

The arrangement means viewers in India will have two distinct platforms for the series: FanCode for online streaming and Sony Sports Network for traditional television coverage. The involvement of ITW Universe as the overarching rights holder adds a further layer to what is a multi-party commercial structure for a series being hosted by Afghanistan but staged entirely in New Delhi.

What is the recent head-to-head context between India and Afghanistan in T20Is?

India and Afghanistan last met in a bilateral T20I series in January 2024, with India completing a 3-0 sweep. The third match of that Bengaluru series produced one of the more dramatic finishes in recent bilateral cricket, with both teams scoring 212 before India eventually won in a second Super Over.

Afghanistan also toured India in June 2026 for a multi-format assignment that included one Test and three ODIs, with India winning the ODI series 3-0. The September 2026 T20I series therefore follows closely on the back of that visit, giving both sides another opportunity to meet across formats within a short window.
