India continue to struggle at Dubai Stadium
Meanwhile, Afghanistan lost their second Super 4 clash, against Pakistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, on Wednesday, which ended their hopes to reach the finals of the tournament. With Afghanistan losing to Pakistan, India have also been knocked out of the race and now face Afghanistan in their last fixture of the 2022 Asia Cup.
India lost both of their opening two Super 4 matches at Dubai International Stadium, including a heart-breaking defeat against Pakistan by five wickets. India's latest defeat against Sri Lanka hampered their chances to progress to the finals of the tournament. Indian bowlers have struggled for consistency throughout the tournament.
This venue has proven to be a nightmare for India in recent times as Pakistan shocked them with a 10-wicket defeat in the group stage fixture of the 2021 T20 World Cup last year. Pakistan easily chased down the 152-run target without losing a wicket to register their first ICC World Cup win against India. India then defeated their arch-rivals by five wickets in the group stage match of the Asia Cup this year, but lost by the same margin in the Super 4.
