Star India batter Virat Kohli picked up a stunning catch to dismiss the dangerous-looking Aasif Sheikh in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Notably, the 34-year-old dropped a sitter earlier in the match and was frustrated with that but the cricketer didn’t take much time for amendment. In the 30th over of the match, Aasif failed to time Mohammed Siraj’s delivery as it hit the top edge and went towards the cover region.
Kohli, notably, was far ahead of the position and needed some extraordinary effort to cover the distance. Looking at a possible dismissal, the cricketer jumped at full stretch to pick up a sensational catch in Pallekele. He looked delighted following the same as India picked up the fifth wicket.

Notably, it was also a sigh of relief for Mohammed Siraj, who leaked a lot of runs against Nepal. None of his plans were executed properly and he looked frustrated at one point. Skipper Rohit Sharma gave him a break and even after that, Siraj looked pretty ordinary. However, he managed to pick up the important wicket of Aasif, who hit a much-needed half-century for Nepal. Later on, Siraj also picked up the wicket of Gulshan Jha, who was threatening the Indian bowling unit.
On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets to break Nepal’s middle order. The star all-rounder dismissed Bhim Sharki, Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla, which helped India bounce back in the match. Nepal openers gave the team a fantastic start as their stand of 65 runs led the foundation. However, Shardul Thakur gave a much-needed breakthrough in the 10th over of the match, which stabilized the situation from India’s point of view.
Indian bowlers have bounced back really well after the initial setback. However, fielding remains one of the areas that the team needs to work on immediately, especially ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
