Australia are all set to host South Africa for a three-match Test series starting from December 17. This will be the first visit for South Africa since the 2018 limited-overs tour which they managed to win. The 2018 series in South Africa was filled with a lot of controversy as the infamous ball tampering scandal by the Australian side left a lot of fans shocked. 

The two teams will get to play against each other in a Test series after four years and a lot of expectations are already visible among the fans. A lot of personnel have changed in the Proteas dug out, especially with no big names like Hashim Amla, AB de Villers and Faf du Plessis. The new look South African batting line-up does possess a lot of talent and potential.  

On the other hand, Australia have been dominant in the format in the last one year whether it comes to playing at home or away. After thumping England in the Ashes last year, Australia travelled to Pakistan for a three-match series and won it 1-0. They did lose a Test in Sri Lanka but still levelled the series 1-1. 

Overall, a high intense Test series between two quality sides is expected to take place with a spot in the World Test Championship final still in the reckoning.
