The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are one step away from clinching the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. In support of that, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has backed the franchise to go all the way in the IPL 2025 final in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Shivakumar pointed out that the Bengaluru-based franchise has hyped the excitement across the state after their entry into the finals of the cash-rich tournament. RCB are returning to the IPL final after nine long years, including several close encounters and heartbreaks. He admitted the government and fans are completely behind the squad in their path for a maiden title.
"I am happy. Bengaluru boys, RCB, will win in Ahmedabad. After a very long time, they have come to the finals," Shivakumar was quoted as saying by India Today.
The veteran politician further noted that a large crowd of supporters will be present at the gigantic venue in Motera to support the players led by Rajat Patidar, hoping to witness a historic achievement for the franchise, which has come close thrice but never won.
"The government of Karnataka and the people of Karnataka are waiting for their victory. A lot of people from Karnataka are going to watch the match in Ahmedabad. Let us hope and pray that they win and come back," he added

Patidar & Co. sealed their spot in the IPL 2025 final after a dominant victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1. Patidar's bowlers dismantled the opposition and bowled them out for 101 runs. In the chase, Phil Salt led the charge to get the side over the finishing line and won them the match with 60 balls to spare.
However, PBKS also came back stronger in the Qualifier 2 against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians. Notably, MI posted a commanding total of 203 in the 1st innings, but PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer kept calm and chased down the target, scoring an unbeaten 87 runs.
Now, RCB and PBKS are aiming for the final win and the IPL 2025 also witness a new franchise being crowned for the first time after participating for 18 years in the cash-rich league.
