On October 5, Kieron Pollard-led Toronto Sixers claimed the Canada Super 60 Season 2 men's championship at BC Place in Vancouver, defeating Vancouver Anchors by five wickets off the final ball to finish on 168/5. The triumph followed the Sixers' women's team securing the women's title, giving the franchise a clean sweep across both competitions and marking one of the most complete performances by any side in the tournament's short history.

Nicholas Pooran was the standout batter in the chase and was subsequently named Player of the Tournament, recognised for accumulating 207 runs and taking two wickets across the full competition.

How did the Canada Super 60 men's final play out?

Sent in to bat, Zaheer Khan's Vancouver Anchors got off to a brisk start. Aneurin Donald cracked 17 off nine deliveries and Aaron Johnson chipped in with 14 off 10 before Martin Andersson fell without scoring. That brought together skipper Moeen Ali and Obus Pienaar, and the pair took the innings to a different level entirely.

Moeen struck 45 off 18 balls, lacing two fours and five sixes into the stands, while Pienaar was even more brutal. The South African batter remained unbeaten on 82 off just 21 deliveries, hammering two fours and 12 sixes. Between them, the pair hit 21 boundaries as Vancouver closed on 164/3 at a run rate of 16.40.

Pooran set the tone for Toronto's reply immediately, blazing 67 off 23 balls at a strike rate of 291.30, with two fours and nine sixes. His assault put the Sixers firmly ahead of the required rate and took the pressure off the middle order. Will Smeed made 16 off seven balls before Lewis Gregory removed him. Pollard then supplied 35 off 13 deliveries to keep the chase on track, and Daniel Sams closed things out with an unbeaten 25 off nine balls that included three sixes, guiding the Sixers to 168/5 on the last delivery.

How did Toronto Sixers and Vancouver Anchors reach the final?

Toronto's route to the title match came through a nine-run win over Mississauga Masters in the first semi-final. Mississauga had gone through the league stage without a defeat, finishing at the summit of the standings, yet the Sixers dismantled that record with a disciplined knockout display to book their place in the decider.

Vancouver secured the second final berth by beating Brampton Blitz by six wickets in the other semi-final. Notably, the two finalists had occupied second and fourth positions in the league table respectively, meaning neither side had dominated the group phase. The Sixers' men's success, stacked on top of the women's championship, rounded off a remarkable Canada Super 60 Season 2 for the franchise.
