Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is optimistic about reaching the finals of the Asia Cup 2022 and feels that it could be the third game against India in the tournament. The two nations haven’t been playing bilateral series for a long time now and hence, the intensity of the games is quite high whenever both sides meet up in multi-nation tournaments. In the going Asia Cup 2022, India beat Pakistan in the first meeting by five wickets in Dubai.

However, the rivalry hasn’t stopped there, and India will play against Pakistan yet another time this Sunday (September 4) in the Super 4 clash. The interesting part is it could be an all India-Pakistan final on September 11, which will be a great viewing for all.

We’re trying to fulfil what our nation demands from us: Mohammad Rizwan

Rizwan mentioned that the Pakistan side have humorously noted the fixtures could be like a best-of-three-match series against India. He mentioned the importance of playing one game at a time and explained the conversations on how the matches could pan out. He added that the ultimate aim would be to improve the game and bring results what Pakistan demands.

“We’ve jokingly convinced ourselves that it’s a best of three series. This is cricket and we’re always discussing about it, hoping we keep playing matches, going from match to match and into the finals. We always talk about this," Rizwan told in a video shared by ACC.

“Obviously, we aim to improve our game and work hard because our nation demands it. The players in our current team are putting in the work and effort. There is a sense of camaraderie and we are trying to fulfil what our nation demands from us. And, as we all know, the end result is in the hands of the Almighty," he added.
