CSK vs LSG: 12 illegal ticket sellers arrested by Tamil Nadu Police after intense scrutiny
As many as 56 tickets worth 1,40,396 rupees were seized from them.

The Indian Premier League 2024 fever is at an all-time high. Teams are leaving no stone unturned to claim the coveted trophy. Chennai Super Kings, who boast wide fanfare across the nation are one of the major franchises who pull crowds to stadiums. Compared to last season, the ticket prices for this season have also hiked. But the supporters are willing to splurge money to see the live action. Some miscreants have taken advantage of this madness and found illegal ways to mint money.
CSK took on Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 23. As CSK were playing their home game after a gap of two away games, a surplus crowd was expected. As per the orders of Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore, the cops indulged in rigorous surveillance and monitoring to arrest those selling tickets on the black market, around the stadium, and in neighbouring areas.

Police arrested T. Elumalai, 38, of Andhra Pradesh, Hayatbasha Noor Mohammad, 38, of Triplicane, S. Shyam, 20 of T. Nagar, S. Kishore, 27, and eight others for illegally selling tickets at expensive rates. As many as 56 tickets worth 1,40,396 rupees were seized from them. Appropriate legal action was taken against the arrested 12 persons.
CSK were outshined by LSG at their den
Talking about the game, CSK succumbed to LSG in the final over of the game. Put in to bat first, Chennai posted a challenging target of 211 runs on the back of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s century. Chasing the target, Lucknow dealt an early blow losing Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul within powerplay. But Marcus Stoinis single-handedly pulled off a heist. He scored an unbeaten 124 in just 63 deliveries and won the game for his side. This was the highest-ever target chased at the revered Chepauk, the fortress of Men in Yellow.
