Delhi to take on Madhya Pradesh in Buchi Babu final

Delhi outplayed Chhattisgarh by 78 runs in the All-India Buchi Babu Invitation cricket tournament semifinal in Salem. Delhi will now face Madhya Pradesh in the final of the competition. Madhya Pradesh advanced to the summit clash after the semifinal clash against TNCA XI ended in a draw.

Batting first, Delhi scored 277 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 87 overs on Day 1 of the game. Arpit Rana was instrumental for the side, smashing 51 runs off 66 balls. Vaibhav also played a significant knock of 42 off 95 deliveries. Sumit Mathur, on the other hand, impressed with the bat on the first day, scoring 52 of 77 balls. Meanwhile, Vaibhav, Shubham Agarwal, and Ajay Mandal both grabbed two wickets each for Chhattisgarh.

Delhi also continued to dominate on the second day, posting 340 runs before getting bundled out in 103 overs. Vaibhav registered his half-century, amassing 60 off 132 balls. Chhattisgarh’s bowling attack was also crucial, with Shubham Agarwal finishing with figures of 3/76 and Ajay Mandal claiming his magnificent four-wicket haul.

Chhattisgarh managed to score 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets on Day 2. Shashank Chandrakar and Shahbaz Hussain were crucial, scoring 42 and 40 runs, respectively. With the ball, Hrithik Shokeen stood out impressively and claimed three wickets for 45 runs to end the day.

 Chhattisgarh were bundled out for 187 in 67.3 overs, thanks to Delhi’s bowling attack on Day 3. Delhi also battled in their second innings, scoring just 80 runs, with Ajay Mandal grabbing a fifer. Chhattisgarh started their 234-run chase and reached 121 for five by the end of Day 3. Rishabh Tiwari (48) and Shashank Singh (48) built a 77-run partnership for the second wicket, which helped the side reach 121 on the third day.

Chhattisgarh continued their chase on Day 4 but fell short of 155 runs in 56.1 overs. Pranshu Vijayran was instrumental on the fourth day and finished with excellent figures 3/32. Meanwhile, Hrithik Shokeen, Yogesh Sharma, and Shivank Vashisht took two wickets each.
