Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Shubman Gill as India's ODI captain.
There were a lot of expectations regarding Rohit Sharma continuing as India's ODI captain for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India recently appointed Shubman Gill as the full-time ODI skipper.

He excelled with the bat as well and took the added responsibility of upping the run rate of the team. He registered 2506 runs in 55 innings at an average of 52.20 and strike rate of 111.97, respectively.
India recently won the 2025 Champions Trophy under Rohit. This came a few months after the Men in Blue won the T20 World Cup 2024 under Rohit's leadership.
