Team England have arrived in Pakistan and are all set to lock horns with the hosts in a three-match Test series scheduled to commence in December. Leading the English contingent, Ben Stokes shared his views on the upcoming series against the Babar Azam-led side.

The Three Lions held a red-ball camp in Abu Dhabi for a week prior to the series, following which they jetted off to Pakistan. Skipper Stokes opined that the side is optimistic and looking forward to the clash against the Asian heavyweights in the longest format.

“I'm very excited. The summer went really well for us in conditions that I know, and we all know as a team, so it's exciting to come away somewhere completely different in sub-continent conditions where whatever team tours finds it very difficult. It's going to be completely different to the summer,” the star all-rounder was quoted as saying by The National.

"We've got everything available to us. The nets out back have different types of surfaces because we're not quite sure what we'll get in Pakistan in terms of wickets. We've been lucky to have some wickets that do a bit and some wickets that are a bit drier to help the lads prepare for the challenges that the spinners will present, so it's been really good,” added Stokes.

The red-ball squad led by Stokes, which landed on November 27, Sunday made their first appearance on Pakistan soil for a Test series after 17 years. The Three Lions last contested in a bilateral series against the Men in Green back in 2005 and since then, the two teams have not locked horns in Pakistan owing to security reasons.

England squad for the Test series: Ben Stokes (c), James Anderson, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes, Will Jacks, Keaton Jennings, Jack Leach, Liam Livingstone, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Mark Wood, Rehan Ahmed.
