Ahead of the fourth Test against Australia at Ahmedabad, India skipper Rohit Sharma revealed that he has faced difficulties with DRS in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. As per the opener, KS Bharat is very new to the DRS scene and thus, he needs time to understand things while he stated that it’s been problematic to deal with Ravindra Jadeja as he seems to be very animated and believes every ball of his is hitting the stumps.

The 35-year-old further mentioned that he had a word with Jadeja ad asked him to relax a bit as some of the balls were even pitching outside the leg stamps. He admitted that the team have made silly mistakes in reviewing some of the correct decisions of the umpire but hopes to get better in the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“Especially Jaddu (Jadeja) yaar. Every ball he thinks its out! I understand, they’re quite animated, it’s just the passion of the game, but that’s where my role comes in, to say bhai, relax a little, it’s okay if it’s at least ending up somewhere near the stumps, but this isn’t even hitting the stumps, and some balls were even pitching outside [leg stump]! So that was a silly mistake that we made but we hope to correct that in this game and we’ll have a small chat regarding this as well, and hopefully we can get it right in this game,” Rohit said as quoted by The Indian Express.

The Indian skipper has also stated that the conditions in Indore were very difficult as it was turning a lot and thus, it proved tricky for the team when it came to DRS.

“Especially in the last game, it was turning a lot, so we had to look at three aspects – pitch in line, impact in line, and then how much the ball is turning. When we played in Delhi, it was not turning so much, so it was only the impact and probably the line where it pitched, whether it’s outside leg or in line,” the skipper said.
