Essex cricketer Robin Das charged with two counts of rape

Essex County Cricket Club cricketer Robin Das, 24, has been charged with two counts of rape and suspended by the county with immediate effect. The charge was formally announced on July 23, 2026, the same day Essex confirmed his suspension.

Essex confirmed it had been in communication with the England and Wales Cricket Board, the Professional Cricketers' Association and the Cricket Regulator throughout the process.
