Fargana Hoque, Marizanne Kapp make strides in ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings

Hoque, showcasing her prowess with a brilliant 102-run knock in the second match, has climbed two places to secure a career-best 13th position.

In the recent ICC Women's Championship series that saw South Africa emerge victorious 2-1, Bangladesh's Fargana Hoque and South Africa's Marizanne Kapp have garnered well-deserved recognition in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.

Hoque, showcasing her prowess with a brilliant 102-run knock in the second match, has climbed two places to secure a career-best 13th position. Kapp, the proficient new-ball bowler, has nudged up a slot to eighth, courtesy of her consistent performances that included figures of 2/21 in the second and third games.

Sune Luus, playing impressive knocks of an unbeaten 47 and 34, has ascended three positions to 22nd. Tazmin Brits, with knocks of 50 and 118, has surged an impressive 32 places to 41st. Anneke Bosch's match-winning 65* has propelled her 71 places to 70th in the rankings.

Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba have also made strides in the bowling department, moving up four places to 19th and six places to 24th, respectively.

On the Bangladesh front, wrist spinner Rabeya Khan has seen a commendable rise of four places to 52nd. Ritu Moni, displaying all-around brilliance, has moved up eight places to 68th among batters and four places to 90th among bowlers.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, and Kapp top the overall MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings

The latest Women's ODI Player Rankings showcase the dynamic landscape of women's cricket, with Natalie Sciver-Brunt leading the batting rankings with 897 rating points to her name. Trailing behind her is Beth Mooney from Australia with 750 ratings and Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu with 736 ratings. Laura Wolvaardt and Smriti Mandhana hold the fourth and fifth spots, boasting 734 and 708 ratings, respectively.

Turning our attention to the bowling department, Sophie Ecclestone reigns supreme with 746 points. The second, third, and fourth positions are secured by Jess Jonassen, Megan Schutt, and Ashleigh Gardner. Ayabonga Khaka follows closely in fifth place.

Marizanne Kapp, showcasing her all-around brilliance, claims the top spot in the all-rounder rankings with an impressive 394 rating. The top five in the all-rounder rankings also feature Ashleigh Gardner, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, and Amelia Kerr.
