Ireland opener Gaby Lewis has progressed four places to 25th among batters in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after a match-winning knock against Pakistan that helped seal a 2-1 series victory in Lahore.
Lewis, who was named the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series after striking a 46-ball 71 in the final match and aggregating 144 runs, is now four places off a career-best 21st position that she attained in July this year.
All-rounder Orla Prendergast is another Ireland player to move up the rankings for batters, gaining 12 slots to reach 48th position after scoring 37 runs in the match. Pakistan batters Nida Dar (up one place to 34th) and Javeria Khan (up four places to 40th) have also improved their rankings.
Ireland medium-fast bowler Arlene Kelly’s haul of three for 19 has lifted her five places to 20th position among bowlers, while Eimear Richardson (up two places to 71st), Prendergast (up three places to 79th) and Laura Delany (up five places to 83rd) have moved up in that list. Pakistan bowler Fatima Sana has inched up one place to 74th.
Pakistan won the three-match ODI series by 3-0 and registered a magnificent victory over the Irish players at home. Ireland could not make a big impact in the three ODIs as Pakistan dominated the entire series, and also broke multiple records on their way to success. The two teams then met for a three-match T20I series, which Ireland won by 2-1, where Lewis was the top performer.
Netherlands and Thailand players make an impact in ODI rankings
In the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, Netherlands opener Babette de Leede has moved up 37 places to 88th among batters after scoring 33 in the first match of their four-match series against Thailand.
For Thailand, opener Natthakan Chantham struck a 135-ball 102 to help seal a historic victory for her team in their first ever ODI, entering the rankings in 89th position.
