Shubman Gill is a super talent, next sensation for India for coming years: Nasser Hussain

"I am going with Shubman Gill. I think he had a very good three quarters, nine-tenths of 2023. He must have learned so much from having the likes of Rohit Sharma on the other end," Hussain said.

Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain was recently asked to pick the young cricketers who he sees as becoming the future legends of the game. The former England skipper was quick to name the likes of India’s Shubman Gill and New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra as his picks.

Opining that Gill must have learned so much from batting with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, he branded the youngster as a super talent and one big star for team India’s future.

"I am going with Shubman Gill. I think he had a very good three-quarters, nine-tenths of 2023. He must have learned so much from having the likes of Rohit Sharma on the other end. Maybe that illness towards the end just got him a little bit and his form dipped. He is a super talent and he is going to be the next sensation for India for years to come. Hopefully, he will have a good 2024," Hussain said in a video shared by the ICC.

When he was given a chance at the top of the order, he was a revelation: Hussain

Furthermore, Hussain lauded the performance of Rachin Ravindra, the youngster who lit the stage on fire in the ODI World Cup 2023 and finished the tournament as one of the highest run-getters of the competition. Hussain hoped that Ravindra could continue his brilliant run of form in the future as well.

"And the man who lit the World Cup up was Rachin Ravindra. Going into the World Cup, I had seen him in England a bit. He came in at the Lord's down the order and smashed it around. I thought he could play. When he was given a chance at the top of the order, he was a revelation. Hopefully, he can continue his progression," Hussain said.
