GT vs CSK: Hardik Pandya spotted in disbelief after DRS call saves Moeen Ali

The Decision Review System (DRS) tends to bring the most original and intriguing reactions from players on the field regardless of whether it goes in their favour or against them.

Spectators attending the IPL 2023 opener between Chennai Super Kings and the defending champions Gujarat Titans from the ground were also extremely fortunate as they were able to witness a fascinating reaction from Titans' skipper Hardik Pandya after the on-field decision from Saiyed Khalid was overturned.

The incident happened on the third delivery of the sixth over when Rashid Khan of Titans delivered the ball to Moeen Ali and as the ball hit Moeen flush on his pads umpire Khalid raised his finger. However, Moeen challenged the decision and sent it upstairs and to his and to CSK's delight the on-field decision was overturned as the ball had pitched outside leg. 

Hardik's eyes were hooked on the giant screen and his reaction was priceless as he saw the replay of the delivery being played on the giant screen like the other players on the field of play and fans were understandably amused.

As soon as the ball hit Moeen on his pad, he immediately had a word with Ruturaj Gaikwad who was standing at the non-striker's end and was in an extremely good position to judge whether taking a DRS call was worth the punt or not. The two were seen engaged in a quick conversation and Moeen decided to challenge the on-field call after the chat.

The replay showed that it was a quick leg break delivery from Rashid and had hit Moeen below the knee roll but the ball tracking clearly suggested that it has pitched marginally outside leg and  Moeen and everyone in the CSK camp breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, the toss was a bit delayed initially but as soon as the coin fell in Hardik's favour he had no hesitation in fielding first.
