Courtesy of an all-round performance by the Indian team, Hardik Pandya and Co. registered a massive win by 168 runs against New Zealand in the third and final T20I match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After clinching the series 2-1, skipper Hardik opined that it is the ‘hard work’ that has helped players to reach at the top.

In a post-match chat with the star of the night Shubman Gill in an interview for BCCI.tv, Hardik shared pearls of advice for the youngsters citing examples of the Indian team which has ‘achieved greater heights’ due to their tough grinding.

“To a lot of youngsters out there, in life, hard work is the only way to reach on top. At the same point if you can genuinely be honest with your work then you can see the result (pointing towards Gill and himself) and you can see all the guys who are there in our team who have achieved greater heights,” advised Hardik during the chat.

Today was my field day and wanted to bowl quick: Hardik Pandya

Hardik relished a terrific outing with the willow by scoring a quick 30 in 17 balls but what stood out was his impressive bowling display which took the rival side by storm. The skipper returned magnificent bowling figures of 4/16 in his four overs and was also adjudged player of the series for his noteworthy performances.

Due to the injury-enforced absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik has taken the onus of regularly bowling the tricky overs for the side in the powerplay and has evolved significantly on the bowling front. The skipper further spoke about his bowling brilliance in the series decider and added that clocking up 145kmph was something that made him ‘happy’.

“Today was my field day. The reason I say it is because I wanted to bowl as quick as possible and the four wickets to be honest are just part and parcel of the sport but I think I bowled at 145 (kmph) if I am not wrong and that kind of gave me the happiness and the smile you can see,” added Hardik.
