The ongoing ODI World Cup has been full of ups and downs for Pat Cummins-led Australia. Getting off to a horrid start to the tournament, Australia failed to register a win in their first two games of the season, losing to India and South Africa.

However, the Men in Yellow managed to win their next two games and get back into the top four in the points table. As the tournament progresses, one of the biggest concerns for the side would be the form of veteran batter Steve Smith. Smith looked to be in the flow in the first game against India; however, he has failed to go big ever since then.

Speaking of the same, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra opined that Smith’s form could be a cause of concern for the Aussies, and his performances could be key for them if they are looking to progress further into the tournament.

"Australia have won two matches, so they have got the momentum now. It is a small ground and if they bat first, they will score 350 again. Steve Smith hasn't scored runs. It will be interesting whether runs come from his bat or not because he has been a point of concern,” Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra also talked of the performances of the Australian middle order. Taking the names of Marnus Labuschagne and Glenn Maxwell, Chopra stated that both batters are yet to make a significant contribution with the bat.

"Marnus Labuschagne - he too hasn't given any great performance thus far. Maxwell with the bat - he has been totally missing thus far. So these are a few points of concern which they would want to address,” Chopra said.
