‘He helped me a lot with his knowledge’ - Murali Vijay gets emotional while praising Dinesh Karthik

Former Indian cricketer Murali Vijay became emotional while speaking about his former teammates Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin.

He expressed his gratitude to Karthik for the guidance and support he provided throughout his career and praised him for his remarkable contributions to the game.

"I got to talk about Dinesh Karthik. It might be little weird but from my childhood I am seeing him. One of the Tamil Nadu’s best cricketer, I think batsman, keeper ever and I am feeling. The dynamic personality, a dear friend but I enjoyed as a fan because at the non striker end played with him a lot. I have not seen anybody play like him. He is a fantastic cricketer, helped me a lot with his knowledge and I really want to thank him for that now,” said Vijay at the TNCA Annual Day.

Vijay also praised the former off-spinner for his dedication to the game and shared a funny anecdote from their practice sessions.

“And R Ashwin of course his dad Ravichandran is here. I have met him. At one time around 4:45 PM for the practice where he came in bike and while I was going in my scooty he stopped me. He asked me to drop him off and I have to go to my work. I watched Ashwin and I always thought that he would do something. I thought about it and he showed eagerness, there was fire in cricket plus he wanted to learn the game and improve himself. So it was a great quality to have all youngsters listening. He is a great role model," said Vijay
