The Holi fever has taken over the Australian team as they celebrated the festival with lots of pleasure ahead of the fourth Test in Ahmedabad. They will take on the Indian team in the final Test of the series on March 9.
Australia's batter Marnus Labuschagne has shared pics of his team enjoying the festival and the whole team seem to have enjoyed their time playing with colours.
As the video of the Indian team’s Holi celebration is doing rounds on social media sites, Steve Smith and his boys also enjoyed the festival ahead of the final Test. After claiming an incredible nine-wicket victory against India in the third Test, the visitors are looking to dominate Rohit Sharma-led team in the upcoming game.
However, before the contest, the Aussies were seen spending a good time while celebrating the Indian festival. In a picture posted by Marnus Labuschagne on Twitter, captain Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, and Matthew Kuhnemann are seen painted in colours.
India look to eye WTC Final berth
Talking more about the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Aussies are currently trailing in the series by a 1-2 margin but after the comprehensive victory in the third Test, the visitors are emboldened to take on the hosts in the final match.
In the absence of regular skipper Pat Cummins, Steve Smith has got the captaincy mantle and the veteran delivered a satisfying result for his team with a win in Indore. However, he is yet to show up with the bat as the 33-year-old has amassed only 97 runs in five innings of three matches.
Before the Ahmedabad Test, expectations are high from the Smith-led Australia team, while, on the other side, the Indian team will also strive to emerge victorious in the important game. The Indian side, led by Rohit Sharma, will look to seal its place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final by defeating the guests in the decider.
In case of a loss in the last contest, India will have to rely on the results of the New Zealand versus Sri Lanka Test series to appear in the final. The competition between the Kiwis and the Lankan Lions will be of two Test matches commencing on March 9, Thursday at the Hagley Oval. To reach the final of the WTC, Dimuth Karunaratne-led side will have to crush the Kiwis by a 2-0 margin.
With the colossal win against India in the Indore Test, the Aussies bagged their ticket for the WTC Final, which will be played from June 7 at The Oval in London.
