Tim Robinson, the latest addition to New Zealand's T20I squad, holds a straightforward perspective on the game, stating "I love hitting sixes." He will be in line to make an international debut against Pakistan in the T20I series starting on April 18 despite having played only 20 domestic T20 matches. His recent performances in the Super Smash tournament showcased his potential when he blazed a remarkable 139 off 64 balls, smashing 10 sixes against Otago, marking the tournament's second-highest individual score.

Nevertheless, the 21-year-old's explosive displays caught the selectors' attention, particularly with several players unavailable due to IPL commitments and other reasons. For him, hitting sixes on the international stage was a childhood dream. He stated that he draws confidence from his stellar century against Otago, but remains aware of the distinct challenges awaiting him in the T20I series against Pakistan.

"I was actually stuttering away trying to hold a conversation, but I was struggling a little bit. I couldn't believe it and to be honest it hasn't quite sunk in yet. It's hard to put those kinds of things into words. Something I've dreamed off since I was a kid, trying to hit sixes in the back yard but for it to all come to fruition is pretty amazing and just really excited.

"I love hitting sixes and trying to entertain people and to be honest it's addictive when you get one out of the middle and it goes a mile. I took a lot of confidence out of that [century] but this is a completely different challenge and I'm excited to get over there and have a real crack," Robinson was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

Robinson further spoke about his Wellington team-mate Michael Bracewell, stating he is a role model for him. Robinson stated that he and the 33-year-old batter help each other and was thrilled that Bracewell would be leading the team in Pakistan.

"He's (Michael Bracewell) been a fantastic role model for me. We help each other and see who can hit the ball furthest. He's a fantastic guy and fills me with comfort that I'm going over with him," he added.
