Former India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has made a bold prediction regarding the result of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 between India and Australia.

India completely dominated over Australia in the opening two Tests and have comfortably retained the coveted Trophy yet again. They are currently leading the four-match Test series 2-0. Australia were completely outplayed in each and every department in both the Tests and received a lot of backlash post the humiliating defeats.

“I see 4-0. It will be hard for Australia to beat India. In these conditions, we are a far superior team,” the 50-year-old was quoted as saying to RevSportz.

The former southpaw seemed extremely confident about his bold prediction about India winning the entire series comfortably over Australia. He was of the opinion that in the subcontinental conditions, India were a far superior team and looking at the condition of the current Australian squad touring India for this series, it was an absolute no-brainer that India would be convincingly winning the remaining two Tests as well and clean sweeping Australia.

Australia face criticism

Former Australia cricketer Greg Chappel was one among the many cricket pundits who were critical of Australia's disappointing outings. He didn't mince his words in stating that Australia absolutely had themselves to blame for making a complete mess out of both their outings against India.

Their misreading of the Indian conditions and over-obsession with adding as many varieties of spinners within the team as possible has just backfired at them, let alone help. If Australia are to make anything out of the remaining two Test matches, the first thing that they need to do is to show maturity in choosing a proper playing XI with the players who are already existing within the team.

The players have been provided a nine-day break after the conclusion of the second Test in Delhi which they are using to spend quality time with their families. They will be resuming national duties from the third and penultimate Test which will be commencing from March 1, 2023 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
