Gautam Gambhir's contribution to Indian cricket is immense. His performances in the finals of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup will be remembered by Indian cricket fans for a long time. He also captained Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders and helped the team win the title on a couple of occasions.
In a recent interview, the legendary cricketer was asked about his biggest regret in life. Gambhir gave a shocking reply as he said that he should not have been a cricketer.
"I should not have been a cricketer", said the Delhi batter while speaking during the Bada Bharat Talk Show Season 2. This was part of a rapid-fire segment, and Gambhir didn't explain the reason behind his answer.
Gambhir has received considerable criticism on social media for some of his blunt takes on popular cricketers like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. However, none of that has stopped the 41-year-old from speaking his mind.
Ravi Bishnoi is the future superstar of Indian cricket: Gautam Gambhir
Indian cricket has seen some exciting talents showing their potential on the international circuit. The likes of Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have backed up their IPL performances with considerable runs on the international scene. When Gambhir was asked to name a young cricket who has the potential to become a superstar in the near future, the veteran interestingly picked leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
Gambhir has worked with the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants for the last couple of seasons. He has seen Bishnoi operating from close quarters. It seems that the Southpaw has a lot of expectations from the spinner, who has 13 T20Is and a solitary ODI for the 'Men in Blue'. The 23-year-old has picked up 20 wickets at 18.25 in T20Is, while in ODIs, he has scalped one wicket. In 52 IPL games, Bishnoi has picked up 53 wickets.
