The ICC World Test Championship final has almost reached its end. With a challenging target of 444 runs for India to reach, Australia is still comfortably leading the game. For India to achieve a record run-chase, they still need 280 runs with only seven wickets left in their kitty.

Fans will concur that there is still an opportunity to pull off the most historic Test chase of all time while Virat Kohli is still in the middle of the field, and that is undoubtedly what will be required to accomplish an optimal result.

The former skipper aims to achieve a big score to lead India home on this crucial final day, as he is only six runs away from reaching his half-century. Though Virat Kohli has successfully guided India to triumphs on plenty of occasions, he is now poised to make history by managing a run chase that will snatch the ICC World Test Championship title from Australia. Notably, a powerful fourth-innings attempt in the ongoing final will break the all-time record of 418 scaled by the West Indies against Australia in 2003.

India's star batter, fondly known as the "Chase Master," considers playing for the nation his strongest inspiration and to win games on his own. "What motivates me is knowing that the opportunity I have every game that I play for India, to make my team win. I don't think in sport there is any bigger motivation than that. I wake up every morning of any game that I play believing that I'm going to be the guy who is going to make my team win," Kohli told the ICC ahead of the WTC Final.

I still wake up every morning believing that I can be the man for the team: Kohli

The 34-year-old believes his teammates should relax and breathe a sigh of relief as long as he is out there in the middle doing the task at hand. "I'm still as excited to be the man that helps my team when I'm batting out there. I want my team to feel comfortable and they can breathe a sigh of relief that I'm out there and (knowing) I can do the job.

"That's something that I've always taken a lot of pride in and I feel very grateful, as I said, to be in that position where the team can expect that from me. I still wake up every morning believing that I can be the man for the team," he added further.

During Day 4 of the World Test Championship final at The Oval, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane firmly attacked Australia. When India received a mammoth 444 to win, they carried on well despite losing Shubman Gill in a disputed style, followed by Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara in consecutive overs.

However, Virat Kohli, one of the iconic Test batters in the circuit at the moment, and Ajinkya Rahane paired up to give India hope for a miracle. Before staging a comeback on Friday, they were entirely outplayed in the first two days. India need 280 more runs to win on Day 5 of the ongoing Test, with seven wickets left in their kitty.
