Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young left-handed prodigy, has created a buzz with his remarkable debut performance against West Indies, where he scored a magnificent 171 runs, leading India to a comfortable victory. Following his impressive debut, Jaiswal has been selected in India's Asian Games squad, further showing his rising stature in the cricketing world.

Renowned commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Jaiswal's inclusion in the Asian Games squad indicates that he is currently not in contention for the ODI format, according to the selectors' plans. Chopra says that Jaiswal will soon become an all-format player because of his extraordinary batting talent.

The Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, in September-October of this year, will feature a 15-member Indian squad. Players competing in the Asian Games are expected of being excluded from the renowned World Cup because the two events overlap.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra expressed his thoughts on the batters chosen for the Asian Games squad, specifically addressing Jaiswal's situation.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal - it is a beautiful situation. The guy scored a century on Test debut, you have not kept him in the ODI list, so he is a part of the Asian Games. He is not in the ODI race currently, whether it is the Asia Cup or the World Cup. However, over the next eight to ten months, I won't be surprised if he is pushing in all formats."

Investing in Rahul Tripathi is the right decision

Chopra further supported the selection of Rahul Tripathi, despite his poor performance in the last IPL, by emphasizing that investing in him was the right decision based on his previous international appearances. Chopra also highlighted on the captaincy role that has been given to Ruturaj Gaikwad, considering the absence of some of the senior players

Regarding Rinku Singh's inclusion in the Asian Games squad, Chopra expressed his satisfaction, as he stated:

"Rinku Singh has finally made it. It was a topic of discussion that he is not coming into the team."

He also praised Shivam Dube's recall to the squad, commending his strong IPL performances and previous experience representing India. Chopra concluded by mentioning the possibility of Vijay Shankar being selected as a seam-bowling all-rounder based on his impressive performances in the IPL. Additionally, he voiced his support for Jitesh Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh as the chosen wicketkeeper-batters.
