ICC names nominees for Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2022

ICC released the four nominees Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2022 award on Friday (December 30). England's star all-rounder Natalie Sciver and Australia's Beth Mooney leads the nominees for the most prestigious award in women's cricket whereas India's star batter Smriti Mandhana and New Zealand's all-rounder Amelia Kerr are the other two nominees.
Sciver has been one of the most consistent performers for England with impressive all-round performances. She is leading the scoring chart in Tests this year with 242 runs from three innings, thanks to her famous 169* knock against South Africa in June. She is the second-highest run-scorer in ODIs in 2022 with 833 runs from just 16 innings and has also scored 271 runs in T20Is this year. Sciver is also nominated for the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the year 2022 as well.
Meanwhile, Beth Mooney currently ranks second in both ICC ODI and T20I batter's rankings and enjoyed a great year with some remarkable knocks. Her best outings came in ODIs as she scored 403 runs from just 10 innings in 2022 at an unbelievable average of 100.75 with the help of three fifties. She is the leading run-scorer for Australia in T20Is in 2022, with 449 runs at an average of 56.12 and a strike rate of 134.43 in 13 innings.
The third in this list, Smriti Mandhana is the current holder of the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year award and is in contention to retain it after another amazing year. She is leading run-scorer in T20Is in 2022 with 594 runs at an average of 33.00 and a strike rate of 133.48 in 21 innings. Her best knock this year came against Australia in Mumbai when she smashed 79 runs to level the 188-run target and then scored 13 more in the Super Over to end Australia's winning streak in T20I cricket.
New Zealand youngster Amelia Kerr has established herself as one of the best all-rounder after an impressive 2022 with both bat and ball. She is leading the scoring chart for the White Ferns in ODIs in 2022 with 676 runs at an average of 56.33 in 18 matches, including one century and four fifties. She is also leading the bowling chart for her team in in ODIs with 22 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 3.81 in 14 innings.
