After a long break from cricket, Virat Kohli is back and showed his class all over again in the ongoing Asia Cup. His performance was under the scanner for quite some, however, with two proper cricketing knocks against Pakistan and Hong Kong, Kohli once again silenced all his critics.

His strike-rate in the first match was a matter of discussion but against Hong Kong, he improved that as well as he scored the much-needed half-century (59* off 44). Meanwhile, former India cricketer Nikhil Chopra believes that this innings will give Kohli a lot of confidence going forward.

“He came after a break and scored in the previous match and this half century will give Virat Kohli a lot of confidence and there’s no doubt about it," he said while speaking on BatBricks7 Presents Run Ki Runneeti show on CricTracker.

The former cricketer also took a dig against all the critics who said that Kohli scores runs against a weak opposition. “If he wouldn’t have scored then people would have said that he couldn’t even score against Hong Kong and now that he scored, people are saying that he only made runs against Hong Kong. Now, he has a bat in his hand and going for a match he has the responsibility of scoring runs."

Virat Kohli bows down to Suryakumar Yadav following his ferocious knock

Suryakumar Yadav was all class against Hong Kong as the 31-year-old hit 68 off 26 deliveries with six boundaries and six sixes. In the final over of the match, he had his eyes on hitting six sixes in a row but could only hit four. On a paitch where all the other cricketers struggled initially, Suryakumar showed how it was to be done.

Following his ferocious knock, Kohli was spotted bowing down to Suryakumar. Later the Mumbai-born player also thanked his former captain for helping him play freely as the duo helped India to win by 40 runs against Nizakat Khan-led side.
