Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Umar Akmal recently made shocking revelations, as the 32-year-old threatened to reveal many secrets of his teammates if they do not stop making allegations against him. He even opined that the secrets he held could even hurt the families of his teammates.

After bursting onto the international cricket scene, 19-year-old Umar Akmal wowed the crowd with his wide plethora of shots that had even the best of bowlers on their knees. With 1003 runs in 16 Tests, 3194 runs in 121 ODIs, and 1690 runs in 84 T20Is for Pakistan, Akmal did have everything that it takes. However, through various controversies, Akmal lost his stunning form and his place in the Pakistan lineup.

Being often surrounded by controversies, many of Akmal’s teammates blame the keeper-batter for his poor attitude and 'immaturity'. Recently, he came forward and threatened his senior colleagues to reveal their secrets if they didn’t stop making allegations against him. However, he opined that he was being considerate of the fans before revealing shocking details about his teammates.

"Mostly cricketers say that I am not mature. And these cricketers are the ones who I played cricket with. They are my seniors, and I really respect them, I would like to say, 'don't force me to reveal your secrets'. I have shocking secrets of players, and if I reveal them, it will hurt their families too," Akmal was quoted as saying by MyKhel.

If these secrets are revealed, people will stop watching cricket: Akmal

Continuing upon the same, Akmal opined that he won’t be revealing the secrets for the sake of the fans who love Pakistan cricket. The 32-year-old also reflected on the fact that if the secrets were revealed, then the fans would stop watching cricket altogether.

"Our people are too innocent and love watching cricket. I just respect that and don't reveal the secrets I have. If these secrets are revealed, people will stop watching cricket," Akmal said.
