‘I’ll share my IPL experience and some cricket skills with everyone’ - Rahmanullah Gurbaz gears up for brand new Zim Afro T10

Afghanistan’s star batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, is set to play in the inaugural edition of Zim Afro T10. This league is an initiative of Zimbabwe Cricket in adding to the flow of launching new leagues worldwide. The league will feature the shortest format of the game, which is T10 cricket.  The inaugural event is set to commence on July 20. 

The 22-year-old is eager to play in the new league and looks forward to sharing the valuable experience he has gained after playing in the coveted Indian Premier League. The Afghani batter will be playing for the Cape Town Samp Army, under the coaching of Lance Klusener. Hence, while interacting with the media, the Afghan is excited to exchange knowledge and also learn from other players during his new stint. 

“IPL is a very top competition and a very good experience for all the players to fulfill their ambition to play cricket. IPL was a good experience for me, I learnt so many things in IPL. Here, everyone knows that we have a coach like Lance (Klusener), who can help everyone,” Gurbaz was quoted as saying by CricketNext.

“I also want to learn from other players. This is a very good opportunity for everyone to know each other well and learn something from each other. I will share my IPL experience and some other cricket experiences as well,” the Afghan youngster further added.

Gurbaz is excited to work under Lance Klusener in the Zim Afro T10 league

Furthermore, Rahmanullah Gurbaz also reflected on working with his familiar coach, Lance Klusener, and the time he spent honing the skills of the Afghanistan national team. He believes that Kulsener has had a great impact on the Afghan players as he helped them a lot in elevating their skills. Hence, it is no surprise that Afghanistan have become a competitive team in recent times.

"We are so lucky to have him by our side. Under him, I did my national duty when he was with the Afghanistan team. We learnt a lot of things from him, he improved our cricket to different levels," Gurbaz concluded.
