South Indian actor Vijay Deverakonda, who now is a popular figure in the Bollywood industry, expressed his desire to play the lead in Virat Kohli's biopic. The actor was spotted in Dubai during India’s match against Pakistan and was a vocal supporter of the Men in Blue. He was present in the stadium to promote his new film Liger which also stars Ananya Pandey.

While speaking to the host broadcaster Star Sports, the 33-year-old actor stated he wanted the ‘King’ of Indian cricket to score a half-century. However, his wish wasn’t granted. Kohli scored 35 off 34 balls before Mohammad Nawaz dismissed him.

However, just before that, Deverakonda talked about his desire to play the former India captain on the big screen. He said since Sushant Singh Rajput already played the character of MS Dhoni, he would be interested to play Virat Kohli.

“Dhoni bhai biopic was already done by Sushant so I'm interested to do Virat anna biopic,” said the actor while talking to Star Sports. Deverakonda has starred in 17 films so far including his super-hit film Arjun Reddy which later was remade in Bollywood as Kabir Singh - which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.

I want to play the Asia Cup final against India and get Virat Kohli out: Maheesh Theekshana

With 35 against Pakistan, Virat Kohli has shown glimpses of his form in the last match. With that, Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana believes that Kohli can hit his 71st ton against Hong Kong on Wednesday. The youngster also expressed his desire to play the Asia Cup final against India and he hopes to take the wicket of the former India captain.

While speaking to News 21, Theekshana said, “I want to play the Asia Cup final against India and get Virat Kohli out. He is an absolutely brilliant player. The last game he played was his 100th T20I. I think he will score his 71st century in the upcoming game against Hong Kong.” However, in order to do so, Sri Lanka first need to beat Bangladesh in the next match and qualify for the Super 4 stage of the competition.
