Australia are all set to take on Pakistan in a three-match Test series shortly after their five-game T20I series with the Indian team finishes. The side will face off against Pakistan across three Test matches, with the first game scheduled to be held from December 14 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

With the first Test approaching, the Aussies will be going through a huge selection headache between all-rounders Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green. Marsh, who was brilliant for Australia during the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, seems like the obvious choice. However, Green’s repertoire with both the bat and the ball would be something that Australia would not choose to ignore.

With the first Test around the corner, Mitchell Marsh has adopted a positive approach and is seemingly not worried about his selection in the red-ball team for the clashes against Pakistan.

"I'm past battling; I'm here to enjoy my cricket and have fun. I absolutely love playing for Australia. I worked really hard to get another opportunity during the Ashes, and my attitude is 'what will be, will be', so I've done everything I can. We have a lot of options. Whoever plays will do the job,” Mitchell Marsh was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

He's a special talent: Marsh

Furthermore, Mitchell Marsh heaped massive praise on compatriot Cameron Green. As both players compete for the No. 6 spot, Marsh opined that it could be nice if both players get to play together like they did in the Ashes 2023.

"He's a special talent. We've got a great relationship. We're super close on and off the field; I always joke that there's probably not a lot I can teach him on the cricket field, but he knows I'm always there for him, and hopefully we can play a lot of cricket together,” Marsh said.

The 32-year-old also talked of his potential approach if he does get selected for the Test matches against Pakistan. He stated that he would like to maintain his original style of play.

"The way I'm going to bat won't change. I feel like I've found my most consistent method over the last couple of years, and that's allowed me to really enjoy cricket. I haven't played a [Test] match here at Perth Stadium, so obviously, if I'm selected, I'm super excited for that,” Marsh said.
