Imad Wasim, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, is now set to feature in the next edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) and will be playing for the Melbourne Stars. He will be joining the team after Christmas for the remaining matches in the tournament.

With 121 T20 and ODI games under his belt for Pakistan, Imad brings a wealth of experience, coupled with valuable lower-order batting skills that complement his crafty left-arm orthodox bowling. Additionally, he possesses the rare ability to bowl with the new ball during the power play, a skill possessed by very few spinners in world cricket.

"With Liam available for the first three matches, we identified Imad as a player who could come in and perform a role for us with his left-arm spin and lengthen our batting lineup. I'm really looking forward to seeing lots of Pakistan fans in the crowd at the MCG with Imad joining his former national teammates, Usama Mir and Haris Rauf," Melbourne Stars' General Manager Blair Crouch as quoted by melbournestars.com.au
