Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon registered a unique feat on Saturday, February 11 as the 35-year-old successfully managed to deliver over 30,000 deliveries in Test cricket without overstepping a single time. Notably, he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2011 and since then has represented Australia in 116 matches in the longest format of the game.

Having played over 100 Tests and not overstepping even once is a major feat and it goes on to show Lyon's consistency as a spinner. The stat was shared by Mazher Arshad, who is a verified statistician.

He has picked up 461 wickets so far and thus, not bowling a single no-ball in so many games is a staggering record to own. He has been Australia’s wrecker-in-chief for over a decade now and has also represented the Kangaroos in 29 ODIs and two T20Is. In a total of 31 matches in white-ball cricket, Lyon has picked up 30 wickets in the process.

Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin strengthen India on Day 3

After a solid performance from skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2, Axar Patel and Mohammed Shami played some brilliant cricket to help India post 400 runs on the board in the first innings. Southpaw Axar Patel scored 84 off 174 deliveries but Shami played his natural game, scoring 37 off 47 deliveries. He smashed three sixes and two boundaries in the process to accelerate India’s innings.

Meanwhile, with the ball, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin absolutely rattled Australia’s batting unit. The off-spinner dismissed Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Alex Carey to dismantle Australia’s batting and helped India clinch the game by an innings and 132 runs.
