India captain Rohit Sharma was caught abusing his teammates on Day 2 of the second India vs England Test in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, February 03. The incident took place at the end of the 31st over with England on 143/4. Between the change of overs, the Indian skipper was seemingly asking his fielders to be alert in a rather harsh tone as he used some profane language as well.

Notably, India were lethargic in the second innings of the Hyderabad Test and had to pay the price with a 28-run loss. Hence, the captain didn’t want the intensity to drop down in the field and let the game slip away as it happened in the first game.

“Koi bhi garden me ghoomega to, ##########’, Rohit could be heard speaking on the stump mic.

Coming back to the match, India resumed their innings on Day 2 336/6 in 93 overs as Yashasvi Jaiswal continued on his overnight score of 179. The 22-year-old went on to notch up his first double hundred in Tests and became the third youngest batter to achieve the landmark after Sunil Gavaskar and Vinod Kambli.

However, he didn’t get much support from others and was dismissed on 209 trying to up the ante. As a result, India were bundled out for 396 with James Anderson being the pick of the bowlers for England with figures of 3/47.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a sensational spell in the second session

In reply, England once again got off to a good start as openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett (21 off 17) added 59 runs for the first wicket off just 62 balls. India got their first success as Kuldeep Yadav got rid of Duckett getting him out caught at first slip.

However, Crawley continued his knock and went on to score a quick-fire 76 (78) before being dismissed due to fielding brilliance by Shreyas Iyer at point. Following his dismissal, captain Rohit Sharma brought Jasprit Bumrah back into the attack and the seamer didn’t disappoint getting the big scalps of Joe Root (5 off 10), Ollie Pope (23 off 55) and Jonny Bairstow (25 off 39) to leave England on 159/5 after 36 overs.
