India beat England by 106 runs in the second Test of the five-match series on Monday, February 05 in Visakhapatnam and they levelled the series 1-1. England were chasing a target of 399 runs to win and came into the day needing 332 runs with nine wickets in hand. However, Jasprit Bumrah (3/46) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3/72) ran through their batting bundling them out for 292.
Following India’s clinical win, India captain Rohit Sharma was seen having a long chat with the Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar possibly discussing the selection of the team for the remaining three Tests. Notably, India had announced the squad for the first two matches of the series and with the third Test nine days away, the BCCI is expected to announce the squad in the coming days.

The major talking point for the remaining three games would be the return of star batter Virat Kohli who had withdrawn from the first two Tests due to personal reasons. However, there’s no confirmation around Kohli’s availability for the remainder of the series yet as even head coach Rahul Dravid revealed that the board is yet to contact him.
Notably, Kohli’s close friend and former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers recently revealed that the India star and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child and hence he’s been absent from the series. However, the celebrity couple are yet to confirm the news.
Meanwhile, there will be also discussions regarding the return of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul who got injured after the series opener. Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during Day 4 of the first Test while Rahul complained of right quadriceps pain.
KL Rahul likely to return for third Test
It was earlier reported that the team management decided to rest Rahul for the second Test as a precautionary measure with him being a key batter in the side. On the other hand, Jadeja is likely to take longer to recover and his comeback in the latter half of the series is still under question.

Apart from the duo, seamer Mohammed Siraj was also released from the squad for the second Test to manage his workload and is likely to get picked again. Furthermore, it will be also interesting to see whether underperformers KS Bharat and Shreyas Iyer will be able to retain their place for the remaining games.
