India made a brilliant comeback in the five-match series against England as they beat them by 106 runs on Day 4 of the second Test in Visakhapatnam. England came into the day on 67/1 needing another 332 runs to win, however, Indian bowlers didn’t let any partnership flourish for too long and kept striking regularly as both Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah picked three wickets each. Zak Crawley was the top scorer for the visitors as he played a brilliant knock of 73 (132).
England began the day with Crawley and night watchman Rehan Ahmed (23 off 31) extending their second wicket stand to 45 and irritating India. Axar Patel broke the stand by trapping Ahmed in front of the stumps. Ollie Pope (23 off 21) walked in at number four with an aim to play another match-winning knock for his side in the second innings. However, his plans were ruined by Ashwin who got him caught at first slip by captain Rohit Sharma.

Joe Root (16 off 10) tried to take the attack on India right from the word go but top-edged Ashwin straight to short third man. Following his dismissal, Zak Crawley and Jonny Bairstow gave a headache to India with their brisk stand of 40 (66) as the duo were scoring runs quickly. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav came to his team’s rescue hitting Crawley on his pads and prompting captain Rohit to review the on-field call of not out.
Much to India’s delight, the ball-tracking surprisingly showed three reds bringing curtains on Crawley’s magnificent innings of 73 (132). Jasprit Bumrah struck from the other end getting Bairstow lbw just on the stroke of Lunch as India picked five wickets in the session.

The second session also began well for the hosts with Iyer running out England captain Ben Stokes with a direct hit to leave the opposition reeling at 220/7. Ben Foakes (36 off 69) and Tom Hartley (36 off 47) showed some resistance with their 55-run stand for the seventh wicket. Bumrah (Player of the Match) once again came to India’s rescue dismissing both the batters while Mukesh Kumar also got his first wicket of the match getting Shoaib Bashir caught behind.
