Matthew Wade’s yet another quickfire innings of 43* off just 20 went in vain as India snatched a six-wicket victory in the second T20I, a truncated eight overs per side contest in Nagpur. Spinner Axar Patel took figures of 2/13 in two overs while skipper Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 46 off 20 to help India in reaching the target of 91 in 7.2 overs. The hosts, after losing the opening fixture made a comeback to level the series 1-1 in a match that got delayed due to wet outfield.

Ahead of the final and the series decider in Hyderabad, both sides will look to win the series that will give them massive confidence ahead of the bigger picture, the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup, which is slated to begin next month in Australia. India are set to host South Africa immediately after the Australia series and the Aussies themselves will be playing West Indies and England down under before the mega event.

The Aussies led by Aaron Finch were absolutely brilliant in the opening fixture in Mohali where they chased down a massive total of 209. Though they suffered a defeat in the reduced and truncated game last time out, they would hope to sign off this short tour with a victory. On the other hand, India, after the disappointment of the Asia Cup must target a series win before facing another tougher opponent in South Africa.
