IPL 2023: Arshdeep Singh left teary-eyed after Rinku Singh heroics at Eden Gardens

With six required in the last over, Kolkata Knight Riders were the favourites to win the match against Punjab Kings on Monday, May 8, at the Eden Gardens. However, ace pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled brilliantly to keep the visiting team in the game till the final delivery, as KKR needed two runs to win their fifth match of the IPL 2023 season.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep completely missed his line and length in the final delivery as Rinku Singh smacked a brilliant boundary to help KKR win a thriller.

Following the incident, Rinku was spotted celebrating in style with his teammates, while Arshdeep was spotted in tears. The youngster has done the job for his side in the past but failed on this occasion. Thus, he was really disappointed and left the ground with watery eyes.

KKR move to number five in the IPL Points Table

After struggling in the first half of the IPL, KKR are once again back to the winning ways as after their terrific five-wicket win over Punjab Kings, the two-time champions are at number five in the IPL points table.

On the other hand, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side started the season in a remarkable fashion but is currently seventh on the table. Thus, in order to keep themselves alive in the competition, they will be aiming to win all of their remaining three matches.

Along with KKR and PBKS, there are three more teams who are currently with ten points. Rajasthan with the same number of points are fourth on the table while Mumbai Indians and Bangalore are sixth and eighth respectively. All these teams are separated via Net Run Rate and thus, the business end of the IPL will surely be a spectacle to look forward to.

Notably, Mumbai will be hosting Bangalore on the evening of May 9 and thus, both teams will have a glorious chance to register a win and move to the top four.
